HCL's Certified Software Engineer Program (Job Oriented Programs for Freshers)

HCL has a made a name in the IT scene in the nation. In fact we have recently (December’08) opened up a ‘Centre of Excellence for BFSI Software’ at Jaipur. The centre has been established with the objective of designing and developing customized software solutions for the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) segment. This step is in the direction of making HCL a one-stop-shop for all software requirements of our developing nation. HCL is focused on providing a broad range of system integration solutions and services to our customers. IT being a manpower intensive industry we plan to hire adequate number of software engineers to fuel our product development, testing, implementation and support capabilities. To meet the manpower requirements we have started a unique offering for fresh IT Software engineers to train in the best environment and offer job as per company norms.

What is the Program all about ?

The Program focuses on providing hi-tech Training as per the curriculum to the selected candidates in the stream of Software - Development, Testing, SDLC, Implementation, Support, Maintenance and soft skills. The intention is to produce candidates who will have capabilities to be productive in such areas of Software where such training is successfully completed. The program involves class-room training followed by On Job project work at any office of the company. Training as per the terms and conditions of the Program.

Who is eligible ?

Bachelors in Engineering and Masters in Computer Applications Candidates meeting the company's selection criterion.


What is the Duration of the Program ?


It is a year long program with 3-4 weeks of exhaustive class-room and practical training conducted by experienced professionals of HCL, followed by 11 months of On-Job Training (With Stipend as applicable) at any of HCL offices located across India.

What do I gain ?

On successful completion of the program the candidate would get a certificate from HCL Training.

The candidate would also specialize in one of the following fields of technologies:

1. Core and Advanced Java
2. Unit Testing
3. BFSI Fundamentals
4. SDLC
5. Oracle Database
6. Managing Self & Surrounding in real situation
7. Knowledge, Experience, there by Confidence (KEC mantra)

The field of specialization would be decided by HCL for the Job training to be undertaken by the candidate. The candidate would be evaluated throughout the yearlong training. On successfully completion of the program, candidate would receive a certificate by HCL Training recognizing the candidate as a HCL Certified Software Engineer, a rare breed of individuals who are considered trained professionals in their field of IT work.

On completion of the program the candidate may be offered a placement as per the policy of the company, though it would not be binding on him/her to join.

Software Fundamentals; Core & Advanced Java; Oracle DBMS ; Unit Testing; Programming Standards; BFSI Basics; Knowledge of existing products; Business Communication skills and more...




Is there any Practical Training ?

During the initial classroom training the candidate would be given class-assignments, cases and problems. This will be followed by eleven months of On-Job Training where the candidate would be assisting the Project Teams of the company at any where in HCL or its affiliate’s offices across India.


Is this a Residential Program ?

No. HCL has a software development facility in Jaipur. However there isn’t any guest house facility available. The candidate needs to arrange for the same at the time of joining the program.


Are there Job Opportunities after the Program?

Yes, all successful candidates may be given an option as per the policy of the company to join any one of the HCL group companies or its business affiliates.




What is the fee involved ?

The minimum fee for the training program is INR 1,00,000/-(Rupees one Lakh only). The fee covers candidates training and accommodation cost to the company as per the Program. The candidate would get stipend as applicable under the Program during their On Job Training.
