Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

    * Monitor production systems, resolve issues proactively, escalating to senior engineers, if needed.
    * Support production environments including Windows Server 2000-2008, IIS, Java, and SQL 2000-2008.
    * Install, administer, and update Windows and SQL 2000-2008 servers.
    * Work with engineering teams to qualify stage and deploy releases to production.
    * Ensure operating standards are developed, maintained, and adhere to.

Secondary Functions:

    * Continuous learning of system administration topics.
    * Function as a liaison between Hosting Operations and other teams within the company, which may include direct or indirect contact with our customers.
    * Any and all additional job duties as defined by Hosting management.



Work Environment:

    * Work is done primarily at a desk.
    * Schedule will generally be business hours/business days, but is subject to change with short notice; must be flexible enough to work any shift.
    * Coverage on holidays and weekends may be required.



Qualifications:

BS/BA degree in Computer Science with MCP/ MCSA/ MCSE certification

Minimum of 5years related work experience.
3+ years experience in Microsoft system administration MCP or above desired.





Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    * In depth SQL Server Database Administration experience and some Oracle if possible.
    * Experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2000 & 2005 RDBMS on large systems
    * Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects
    * Experience Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
    * Experience of Transactional SQL, and DTS stored procedures.
    * Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security
    * Knowledge of hosting/SaaS/ASP environments and Network Operations Center protocol, focusing on systems performance and high availability.
    * In-depth knowledge of server hardware systems.
    * Knowledge and experience in qualifying, staging and deploying of specialized software pieces into a complex production hosting center.



Knowledge of the following technology areas:

    * Installation and base configuration of Windows servers.
    * Active Directory (user and computer management, Group Policy).
    * Web Server technologies (IIS 5-7, Apache).
    * Relational databases (SQL Server (2000-2008) and/or Oracle (10g RAC)) as it relates to systems administration preferred (ability to move data in and out of databases using simple queries).
    * Application of and adherence to industry and best-practice standard in regards to security as it applies to core technologies.
    * Analytical skills necessary to ensure assignments are implemented in a clear, controlled, anticipated fashion.
    * Ability to quickly learn about procedures and technologies for systems and applications and to apply new knowledge in small to medium size tasks.
    * Demonstrated clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
    * Experience in creating process and procedural documentation.
    * Work effectively with all levels of company staff; must be a self-starter, and work well in a team environment.
