Skills: Sybase DBA , Experience Required(Description) : MANDATORY :: Knowledge of Sybase ASE, Sybase Replication servers, IBM UDB / DB2, MS SQL server would be beneficial. In-depth knowledge of Oracle database product along with Oracle Datagua rd would be beneficial -> In-depth knowledge of Red Hat Linux Operating System ->Good grounding in all aspects of the infrastructure environment, such as network, storage, hardw are Experience/Qualifications ->Candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills, be confident, reliable and be able to perform under high pressure. ->Candidate should b e willing to take on responsibility and manage projects to completion. ->Candidate should be competent at planning, directing, and executing project work, either independently or as part of a team spanning different regions -> Good problem solving and analytical skills. |

Database Administrator required to provide
full range of database services to application development communities
across different offices in Asia. The successful candidate will work as
part of the gl
obal Database Technology group and will implement, operate, and support
globally-driven database initiatives
RESPONSIBILIITES ->Working closely with development groups to provide wide
range of database services such as query tuning and optimization,
troubleshooting database issues, performance tuning servers and
databases to meet application needs -> Establishing strate gic relationships with software vendors who provide key trading and settlement applications in the region. The candidate will need to understand these vendor applications in depth -> Routin e duties include day-to-day support, coordinating break/fix, checking and acting upon various system reports, handling requests and problem resolution. -> Coordination with Tokyo team and g lobal counterparts in NY and London to ensure policies, procedures and projects are in line with global strategy -> Project management and execution. Participation in on-call rotation to support the Asia database environment out of business hours and during the weekend -> Analyzing and planning for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements -> Disaster recovery planning and documentation. |
